MARSHFIELD – Here’s your guide to races in the Feb. 17 primary election in Marshfield and Wood County. The polls will be open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Many area residents will see primary elections in their districts on Tuesday to help set the ballot for the April 7 spring election. Voters in the School District of Marshfield and voters in Wood County District 9 will find ballots waiting for them at their regular polling location.

Here’s the list of primary races for Marshfield-area voters

Marshfield School Board
Three members of the nine-member Marshfield School Board reach the end of their three-year terms each year. District voters will choose the top six of seven candidates to compete for three seats in the spring election. The district consists of the city of Marshfield, village of Hewitt and towns of Lincoln, Cameron, Rock, Richfield and Marshfield in Wood County and towns of McMillan and Day in Marathon County. Current board members Mark Konrardy and Tara Tremelling filed declarations of non-candidacy in the race.

- Brandon Taylor
- Mathew Samson
- Faith Meyers
Candidate Mathew Samson is currently being held in the Wood County Jail facing multiple felony charges of child abuse and domestic abuse. His next court appearance is scheduled for Feb. 12. His name will appear on the Feb. 17 spring primary ballot.
