Volunteers play a crucial role in Gather’s operations, with 60 volunteers working daily to organize food donations, prepare and serve meals, and help run the food pantry and mobile markets.

According to the Food and Research Action Center, approximately 9% of seniors in the U.S. face food insecurity. Gather has seen a 14% increase in demand for groceries at its free pantry market over the past year and a 67% increase in people picking up prepared meals.

The organization creates programs designed to build food security in welcoming and dignified ways, including for seniors who may struggle to afford food on fixed incomes and often feel isolated.
