It’s Friday the 13th. Here’s how Pensacola is celebrating

Exactly how unlucky is it that Friday the 13th, considered the unluckiest day of the year, lands just before Valentine’s Day? It turns out that it has nothing to do with luck, just statistics. And the 13th day of any given month is statistically more likely to fall on a Friday than any other day of the week.

With the superstitions out of the way, let’s get to the important stuff: How can Pensacolians celebrate Friday the 13th? They can start by potentially earning a free dozen doughnuts from Krispy Kreme. Afterward, head over to a local tattoo shop and try your luck getting in for a Friday the 13th flash tattoo.

Here’s how Pensacola is celebrating Friday the 13th.
Krispy Kreme coupon for free doughnuts

This one requires a bit of an asterisk, but Krispy Kreme is giving away coupons for free Original Glazed dozens on Friday the 13th. So, what’s the catch? They are limited to 13,000 dozen, and they are being given away randomly to customers «throughout the day,» according to Krispy Kreme.

«The 13,000 free dozen will be in the form of a coupon that guests can redeem with any purchase over 13 days beginning Sunday, Feb. 15,» Krispy Kreme said in a statement.
